This five-day RV getaway is built around three full days of exploring Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with arrival and departure days left open for travel and settling in. You’ll also choose between two distinct Pigeon Forge campground options—one selected for convenience and easy access to the heart of the adventure, the other for a quieter, more relaxed place to return to at the end of the day.

Spend a full day at Dollywood, where a rustic mountain setting, live music, traditional food, family attractions and award-winning coasters come together in one of the country's most celebrated theme parks. Head into Great Smoky Mountains National Park early one morning to cook breakfast beside the rushing waters of a mountain stream, then later follow an easy riverside trail beneath the trees and into the national park.

In Gatlinburg, ride a chairlift to the top of Crockett Mountain and take in sweeping views of the Smokies. Wander through a tucked-away village of small shops and brick walkways, or spend a few hours along an historic 8-mile arts-and-crafts loop, where working artisans create pottery, jewelry, textiles, woodwork, paintings and other pieces rooted in the region.

Along the way, there is plenty of local flavor. Start the morning at a favorite neighborhood café, enjoy mountain dining with a view, sample moonshine and other spirits at a lively Gatlinburg distillery, and end an evening with dinner beside the river at a classic Gatlinburg restaurant. The adventure mixes the area's headline attractions with the smaller discoveries that can make a trip memorable. The distillery stop, for example, is deliberately short and informal, with a rotating tasting guided by a tastemaker—just enough time to experience a little of Gatlinburg's modern moonshine culture before dinner.
